Happy Bday Ate Nitz Layout 13 - RAINBOW

13 layouts? Yeah, since I decided to keep one of the layout, had to prepare another one to replace them.

The cutout of the rainbow and picnic basket is from the class of Iris Babao Uy, that I have mentioned earlier - I joined but was not able to produce as I assisted my Mom.  I used Pebeo glitter medium on the rainbow.

My layout is for Ate Nitz, a true Best Friend Forever and :
1. Filipino Scrapbookers Challenge 2 - Layout by Melissa
2. Kaboodles Doodles Challenge 130 - Birthday or any Special Day
3. Sketches for All Wifey Cookie's ABC Challenge - H is for Happy

Happy Bday Ate Nitz Layout 12 - FUN

I love the blue mat - which is just a plain blue paper stamped. Found some chipboard embellishment and use it.

Yeah, already used that heart velvet lace in another layout - what can I say? we have lots of it...

Happy Bday Ate Nitz layout 11- TIME

Friendship has no expiration date.
Friendships provide time always
Friendship endures.....

So when I saw this paper misted with a clock, I decided to use it as base of the layout and the mat to be circle.... in this case, three of us - all of us who celebrated Ate Nitz bday!

Happy Bday Ate Nitz Layout 10 - LIKE

The paper has the word Celebrate and Birthday on the side I spared that in the layout.

I had fun with stamps - so searching for more stamps, found these that I can use. I also found some orange foam stamps and some pearl brads that I used at the center.

Happy Bday Ate Nitz Layout 09 - CRY

A friend is a should you can CRY on, so I tried crying, considering the hardships I had to endure (am now jobless, so that explains my sudden productivity - i have time on my hands). But how can one cry out with good friends around you?

The layout used the Timeless theme of AAS - this is one of their best papers! Likewise, I cut out the butterfly from another package and then attached it on double sided tape, providing some dimension.

Well, Ate Nitz is wearing a white blouse with blue flower prints so I used a white circle mat stamps with blue embossed print. Then to add more pizass, the reading geisha in pink on the side.

I also found a new use for the mini frames of All About Scrapbookin - as frame for my journal and to focus on strips of paper pasted.

Happy Bday Ate Nitz Layout 08 - NITZ

I started the layout focused on the picture - blue and white blouse of ate Nitz, perfect opportunity to use a corner stamp! Then, I embossed the corner stamp.

The white lace ribbon look so plane, so a technique I learned - distress or color it with stamps!

The layout is quite simply but I find it elegant...

Happy Bday Ate Nitz Layout 7 - Stamps and flowers

It was raining heavily last Saturday and I just got my online purchase from Ria - these stamps! I just had to use them on a layout - again the backside of one of the AAS papers. Then the brown paper border using one of the deep end punchers of Iris. Its another reason I do not mind going with my mother in Iris' class, i get to use her stamps and punchers.

I know, it would be better to simply enroll myself - which I did once but sad to say, I ended not doing a single layout since I had to help my mom.

Now, I used these glittered embossed flowers and butterflies plus the ribbon. I guess, this the layout that required much, much effort and... since I love it... I could not part with it, will be keeping it with me... hehehe.. which means... another layout for the planned 12 page birthday album!

Happy Bday Ate Nitz Layout 06 - Wacky Wave

Oh, thinking of how to use the sisal craft? This time I used it as a frame - just a bit tricky cutting it out with a cutter. Again, instead of trying to glue the sisal, I had it attached using brads on a fabric flower.

For the band in Melissa's layout, I used AAS velvet laces - with Bostik glue stick. Bic's glue stick is not effective with fabric, sad to say.

The base paper is Nostalgia theme -sorry.. phased out by AAS. :)

Happy Bday Ate Nitz Layout 05 - Simply Handmade

Again, A Tipid (Saver) tip is to use part of the packaging of All About Scrapbooking (AAS), so here, I used it as my matting - after all, best friendships are done handmade!

So, at least 75% of the materials are handmade. I found this banner like circles and handbag which I looped around the frame, and it look nice. So as not to scatter focus, I did not add much embellishment except those yellow leaves.

The embossed handmade paper is difficult to glue - so I simply attached it using fabric flowers with brads.

Happy Bday Ate Nitz Layout 4

This.... I tried using at least 5 year old scrapbook kit circa 2007 or older. I would be honest, I do not know how to feel about this one - sort of an uber mish mash - natural skelton of leaves and yet I used those small plastic embellishments of bag! Well, the picture was take in front of one of those bag displays in Glorietta.  The two blue flowers are actually wood!

Happy Bday Ate Nitz Layout 03

Last Saturday, 28 Jul7 2012, I accompanied my Mother to Iris Babao Uy's class at Lasting Impression. In the first layout, they used stamps for the background using Derwent Inktense colors. It was nice, so when I had the free time, I got to play with the stamps - Iris lets me, she is not that nice.

However, the table is not that even - so the stamp was not so clear. So in using the stamp imprint, I have to cover up the white space, and thus the use of fabric flowers on three corners! hehehehe! Actually, I find the based fabric flower to be so light, so I had to darken the color using stamp.

All the papers, buttons, flowers, and bookplates were from All About Scrapbooking (AAS)

Happy Bday Ate Nitz Layout 02

My Mom asked how did I made this three pictures? When I took them, I made the succeeding ones nearer, used the zoom mode.  Then for the first time, I tilted the design challenge of Melissa.

Most  the materials were from my Mom's AAS stash. I used the backside to stamp out the small frame and used it for journalling. The title - simply 56 are the remnants of my Mom's thickers.

The small ribbon is still available in stores, since I only got it this year - the based paper is already phased out, same with the fabric flowers. Good thing - my Mom has them!

Happy Bday Ate Nitz - Layout 01

Its July 31, Typhone " Gener " is still raging! Well, if there is anything good being on a lock down, I finished a 12 page album for Ate Nitz, aka Lucina Gabiola, wife of Mandy, mother of Nino, Jacqueline... and oh.. what's her name... well, god bless her! So, on the last day of the month, going to post my last 12 layouts. Yes, still based on Filipino Scrapbookers Challenge 2 by Melisa! So, Melisa, you are an artist that change my life... hehehehe, never imagine I could be this productive / creative based on your challenge.

Likewise, its nice to note that with one work, one can join several online contest and still have a great gift for long, long time friend. Also, tried having the work on a black clip hanging on my door than laying it out on my bed - advise courtesty of Iris Babao - Uy, a true scrap master!

2012 July Layout - THANK YOU! 71 YRS

How do you end an album? A THANK YOU!

My Mom's idea of a wakky pose is just raising her hands .. well, it seems like praising, thanking God and everyone for 71 years of her life.. so that is how I made the last layout based on the second challenge of Filipino Scrapbookers' challenge blog.

Now, how do I incorporate what's in to make the layout eligible for Kaboodle Doobles 129th challenge? Not banners - hexagons!

I used the hexagons as base or mat for layered fabric flowers, and for further dimension, some are attached using double sided foam tapes! Of course, a brad is used in layering the fabric flowers and attaching it tot he paper hexagons.

I used the extra alphabet from the Scrappin Club June 2012 meet on dark brown AAS plain paper, then further matted it on the backside of any AAS paper, which provided focus and contrast... Thank you!

2012 July Layout - CUTE

The cute child is Kianel, second son, second grandchild, my second nephew.  But there are limited letters in any given Alpha that can be used for titles - its like playing scrabble! So since there is no more K for Kianel, I made the title "cute".

This one is 100% certified AAS materials!

First, I cut out the wave pattern from a beach theme set to be used as bar. Following the second challenge of Filipino Scrapbookers's Challenge Blog, I used yellow sissal as the mat - but I simply used it fully.

Well, I could try to cut it to a round shape but its so difficult! And there is no strict rules, no right or wrong in scrapbooking, so I just used it as is! And I personally liked it.  As long as you enjoyed your own work, happy with yourself.. deadma to the others!

2012 July Layout - KARL

Hallmark sold calendars that can be used for scrapbooking - and I saw this 2008 Scrapbook calendar which I used for the rounded mat. I used Carl star punchers which I punch around thus producing those "dark" stars - the punch out blue stars are then pasted on top.

Stampy me - AAS has introduced 4 clear stamps and this I used, which are embellished with those glittered foam stars (this came part of the June 2012 Scrappin Club meet!)

The two arrows as based on the challenge of Filipino Scrapbookers' Challenge Blog was cut out free hand and then attached using foam double sided tape. The left side arrow was pasted on the back side to provide a white border.

I used my mom's crochet twine to make a ribbon between the main mat and the small chipboard embellishment.

2012 July Layout - GEM

Base paper is the backside of AAS Teens patterned paper, this I had misted as an extra during one of Iris Uy's class when I accompany and assist my Mom.

Sometimes, in the club day or scrapbook contest of All About Scrapbooking - one gets paper theme that does not suit you, like the teens theme.. still usable! Just use the backside!

I also used a daisy print decorative tape given to my Mom by Ate Jeannie David. Decorative tapes are nice for framing and all.

The bottom bar was made through a Martha Steward punch on AAS patterned paper.

AAS green dotted ribbon was used for the arrow embellishment as in the layout for the Filipino Scrapbookers' Challenge Blog and base for the title.  And to make the layout qualified for the Kaboodle Doodles Challenge  129 - I used the remaining heart strings banner from AAS.

2012 July Layout - OBET

Ok, the 2nd Challenge of Filipino Scrapbookers' Challenge Blog is a given, they provide the layout but with Kaboodle Doodles - what embellishment to use? Already use the handmade heart strings banner and it would be inappropriate for a male layout?

Solution: Create your own banner! I cut some of the violet abaca string from AAS and for the banners, i used AAS ribbons folded and then stapled! To attach on the base, I used AAS clear dots! The AAS clear dots are a bit thicker than other brands, like 3M, but I dont mind since it simply adds a little bit more dimension.

I also used my Mom's stash - I saw that coconut tree on her basket. And then I cut out a small circle with the Island for counterbalance of the coconut tree! The base paper is from a celebrate birthday theme while the blue bottom is a layer from their summer theme which I cut out for use in other pages.

2012 July Layout - DRAMA QUEEN

"What! Am not like that! That is not me!" My mother protested when she saw the layout. Ha ha ha - well, she is, she loves drama. I told her you are a Drama Queen since she stays up late to watch ABS CBN telenovelas - right now, its WALANG HANGGAN!

Well, if one can hit two birds with one stone, once can try to make it into three birds! So from here: Make a 71st birthday album, join the Fililipino Scrapbookers Challenge Blog (using their layout), AND  the Kaboodle Doodles #129 Challenge (use of what's in ).

How? I used a borderline heart sticker of AAS as the bar of the layout challenge, and then placed on top a hearts banner string from AAS!

Not much effort for the embellishments - I just used AAS Puff stickers - hearts ( I think it was only Php19.50!) The title from AAS was matted on yellow to provide contrast, without the yellow base, the title would melt in the red mat!

2012 July Layouts - NERD

Well, for the remaining 8 pages - I started to focus on other members of the our family. My father died in 2009 so he is not part of it, and my Mom is really trying to forget, to simply move on.

There was so much rain last weekend and our house was not spared. Our house leaked and all 7 pictures I already had picked were water damaged!.

I found this Hallmark Little treasures with a frame and bookmark among the stash, so i just inserted my picture and took out the book mark! For the bar of the challenge, I used two strips of blue checkered paper, afterall, I was wearing blue shorts.

The base paper was from the tiangge of Filstar last December 2011, imagine Php10 for a set of 4 papers! Scrapbooking is not really expensive, one just need to be wiser, smarter with purchases. The paper was from their nature / texture line, so the coffee beans goes well with the  coffee mug. Just for embellishments, I places puff stickers of plants and a butterfly.

Last touch : a stamped vintage car on blue ink on yellow paper, why? No reason, just like to place it since i love stamps, besides, going around in cars is quite relaxing... just like scrapbooking.

2012 July Layouts - HELLO

Totally inspired by Filipino Scrapbookers's Challenge Blog second challenge that I decided to create a 20 page album to celebrate my Mom's 71st bday, afterall, I already have done 12 layouts - so here starts 8 more!

The picture is of me and my Mom waving at the beach, thus - nature inspired, a handmade base picture and sissal. I also used 5 AAS bookplates - fast way of providing journals and embellishments.

Bookplates look better with brads. The brads likewise provide a more important function : I used it to place the sissal and the base blue mat for the picture! The sissal is nice, it adds texture and that unique nature touch, but its not easy to paste or glue, but sturdy enough to simply used brads to attach it!

As a Pinoy scrapper - we maximize! For the bar of the challenge, I placed the yellow ribbon and then for that pizazz, a small blue ribbon, then I framed it on the negative of an AAS border sticker. The border sticker is used on another layout.

I used stamps on the backside of AAS paper scraps for three of the embellishments.

Scrappin Club July 2012

The kit contains a bird cage pattern which is used for the page and the project. For the project, the bird cage pattern is cutout in two and rounded on a cardboard circle that provides as base, then embellish it! Tag cards were made to provide some journals and for photos which were placed inside the paper bird cage.
The kit features basically a new set and the paper quilling set. The flower  quilling - no skill required! One simply has to take the cut outs carefully, roll it, tape it.. then use it as embellishment! An AAS paper quilling set would cost around Php132.50 which produce around 48 small flowers, or around php2.76 each! For the page, they provided a patterned paper which is then fan folded to serve as the base.

Challenge 2 Entry 1 - B DAY

Actually this the second layout I did. The summer paper is so nice that I did not want to cut it out so I basically use it as is.

The red and pink papers are hand made papers. The book plate i think is a leatherette no longer available.

To be in sync with the kawayan shed of the picture I used abaca thread which is extra from a class of Pia Mojica that my Mom attended. The criss cross patter is actually the most effort since i have to cut out holes and go through the work twice.

Challenge 2 Entry 2 - MAMA ROSIE

This is the first layout I did based on the second challenge of Filipinosscrapbookerschallengeblog - so  I basically and simplistically copied the layout.

The first is fairly easy since its just having to copy the layout. For my Mom's picture, I cut it out and had it outside the frame - which I got from one of the bloggers in Scrap and Tell of Filstars.

The project is simple but there is actually more dimension since i used a lot of double sided foam tape to elevate the arrows, stars, and journals.

I also used a Martha Stewart corner punch for the flower motif.

Challenge 2 Entry 3 COOL

Damn! The pages takes longer to do and yet looking at them, they seem simple enough to do.

Rarely do we buy fabric flowers but we got them from the raffles and kits. A good technique and in making them more beautiful is to layer these fabric flowers.

I used a Martha Steward puncher to get the daisy flowers which were attached by used or red brads.

To be honest, I have doubts if the orange base paper I used is from All About Scrapbooking but it matches basically my Mother's dress, which is why I used it.

Challenge 2 Entry 4 MUDRA

I love this layout because i got to use the black handmade paper which provided great contrast to the title.

I used blue ribbon from the Scrappin Club kit of June 2012.  The base paper is definitely All About Scrapbooking (discontinued line).

AAS offers a lot of foam flowers  which are now self adhesive, but to add pizazz, I always use a brad at the center - in this case, I use pearl brads. A simplre red brad is used on the layered fabric flowers.

Challenge 2 Entry 5 FUN

Fun is the title, likewiase in doing this very simple layout. I have extra red sissal mat - so I had it used on top and bottom left corner. I used blue stamp on the right hand corner for some design.

For embellishment, it was simply a summer chipboard embellishment of AAS.  The fram is small for the picture, so I cut it diagonally and then just embellished the right hand upper conrer and left bottom corner.

In the picture, there is this kid who is on fours - his buttocks raised in the air. I find it distracting so i covered him up with the "summer" chipboard embellishment.

Challenge 2 Entry 6 WOW 71!

I did it this afternoon of 20 July 2012. The picture is simply great. My Mom loves to pose for the camera.         I even had asked her if she does not tire of printing out almost all of her photos! I took a lot of shots for her to choose - she did not choose at all, she simply had all of them printed!

Now, my mother had just came back from a mass celebrated for a departed neighbor of ours. She recounted how others noted she look young for her age, thus she flaunted her age - hence, the title at WOW  - 71 !

For base, i cut the red sissal paper on a yellow base paper - used yellow to represent the sun, the reason we feel the summer heat!

I used a corner acrylic stamp to add some desing on one corner.

Challenge 2 Entry 7 GANDA

Ganda or beauty is what I could think of with my sister in law Gemma and my mother.

I used an old blossom paper, its a discontinued line - very thin paper unlike the type they used now. Blossom or flowers since it showed two great dames.

I searched for my mother's "summer" drawer and chanced upon these embellishments, so simply used them.

No special techniques rally.

Challenge 2 - Entry 8 SAYA

Oh, this I started in the morning of 19 July but i slept without finalizing it - and finalized it in the afternoon.

I used AAS chipboard embellishments which were placed on top of layered fabric flowers. However, for the gift tags at the bottom right, the layered fabric flowers were placed on top.

The title SAYA or Happiness is basically the same color as the base paper so it would just melt or dissolve - thus i need to mat them to provide contrast. I used the back of chipboard embellishments and then distressed it with stamp pad.

The picture was matted on the back side of the packaging of Fabric Flowers, thus it showed the brand of AAS and the bar code.

The journal gift card on the bottom left hand is on a based of layered fabric flowers and topped with two more fabric flowers.

The round orange strap comes from an Hallmark or AAS calendar prepared that one can simple tear up the pages for scrapbooking.

Davao Entry 1 - Heart & Home CATS

I won! This second project I think earned me more points to catch the Grand prize of AAS Scrap at SM Davao on 08 July 2012.

The contest showed a sample wherein paper would had to be cut to provide a tiled roof pattern. The sample showed a based of yellow paper and blue roof pattern. I reversed the color since I want to stamp the roof to provide more pattern. The kit has these glittered flower patterns, which I cut into 3-4 and used it on the edges for my roof, and as additional points to the gift cards which were inserted on the yellow base pocket.

The kit contains these frilly ribbons that are not good for tags, so i used it to border the page... thus adding that little flair to a simple layout.

Davao Entry 2 Heart & Home - HOME

This was done by Rene. I love he simplicity and elegance of it, but not enough to land in the top 6.

Rene has no plans of joining the contest but being the supportive friend that he is, he joined at my behest and used a  picture of my Mom and my Lola which was on file.

I would have used the blue butterfly to provide some balance with the red one.

He could have done better with the title. It could not strike as home since they were in Canada on a tour.

Mother's Bangkal Free Classes 10

I used the All About Scrapbooking Plain and simple Paper set ( on this batch, I think I came out around 2-3 pages).  The fabric flowers were a given, just layer them. The chip board embellishments came from three sets I think.  The Journal note, its one of the four that comes in a set.

The only thing that is not All About Scrapbooking is the fairy stamp I did, this is a stamp I found in Singapore. I went to Singapore last May 2012 - my friends were infighting so the tour became more of a scrap time for me! And I found two shops that have so much nice affordable stamps!

The style noteworthy is simply making a border frame, it can be further improve by placing an accent on each four corners. But, for this batch, 10 pages, which I had to finish from afternoon to morning - so my Mom can bring it ... it was simply making fast and quick layouts. If and when I had time, I guess pearl brads would look good on each corner

Mother's Bangkal Free Classes 09

This actually was the first page I did of the batch. I cut the clouds and round circles from an Out and Loud All About Scrapbooking theme 12 x 12.  I chose it because of the circles which matched my Mom's Black polka dots on blue paper.

The base paper is a plain blue paper which I sprayed with red mist. Sorry, All About Scrapbooking (Filstar) already discontinued selling such 12 x 12 plain papers.

The picture was matted on a red handmade paper, so its a bit elevated. Double sided foam tapes are used on the circles, clouds, and the paper tags.

Tip - I pasted the journal label and book plate then I placed the eyelets and pearl brads, so it would not move much.

Mother's Bangkal Free Classes 08

When you are on your 8th or 9th layout, one gets tired, one would want a simple layout, more white space so I ended up with this. My Mother commented - "Uy, Lasting Impression!".

For scrapbook lessons - me and my Mom attend two places 1) All About Scrapbooking Scrappin Club which we religiously attend every month (except last March 2012 - had to rush Mom to the San Juan de Dios Hospital) and from 2) Lasting Impression classes.

Their papers and styles are different, one might say that the Lasting Impression gurus and all are a bit more elitist, high end while that of AAS is more of the masa or general public.

In Lasting Impression - they would teach you techniques and use a lot of tools like border punches. It seems for me that their clientele or target market prides theirselves of preparing their own embellishments, in the artistry of their work - thus they take more time, materials, and techniques, which makes each layout the general notion that scrapbooking is expensive.

With All About Scrapbooking - its already more of cutting papers, ribbons, and their embellishments. Their objective is to encourage everyone to do scrapbooking offering their products at more affordable prices and embellishments that are ready for use!

So in this layout, I used border punchers - their nice and quick, then added a ribbon on topl. The border is then accentuated by 3d laser designed flowers from All About Scrapbooking.

Mother's Bangkal Free Classes 07

This was the last last layout done before I retired, likewise last of the photos. My Mom said, I should also scrap what they have done - so " Luto" or simply "Cook" in english.

I used border punches as based. Embellished the page with foam flower cutouts and chip board.

However, i used this transfer rub ons from All About Scrapbooking for the red line, which is my first time to use. Honestly, i don't like it. I had to rub it on several times. But I saw a lot of rub ons from All About Scrapbooking on my Mom's hoard - and she defends herself saying these accumulated as giveaways from the contest and club meets..  hmmm, I can only smile.. no comment.

I thought about placing more journal but have doubts of writing down really my Mom's comments - the food, they look better in pictures! My mom brought home some donuts, I took a bite and just forced myself to swallow. The rest, I think she eventually throw out. She cited that the fault was in the yeast, the dough did not rise and blames it on the "supervisor".

Mother's Bangkal Free Classes 06

This was the second layout I prepared of the batch. I used the back side of a paper and misted it red. Then I used a green plain paper and stamped it with red wordings so it does not look so plain anymore, likewise distressed the green mat in red.

Why red? Look at the picture, red stands out. My Mom s wearing a red apron and does the person in front.

The tags were taken from All About Scrapbooking chipboard embellishments, spruced up with twines. Twines are available in craft stores, thus these are no longer sold by All About Scrapbooking, nor likewise used in their classes or demos. What they would use of course would be ribbons, which they sell.

The red fan - its another embellishment we got at one of the classes this year with All About Scrapbooking, last May 2012 I think.

Mother's Bangkal Free Classes 05

Oh, I love this one! Its very simple but blue is my favorite color. At first, I declined to scrap the photo since the first layout I did used a similar photo. Howeve, Mother asked me to do so.

I want to use my Mom's all around punches.. so this is a chance I got! But aside from the tool - all materials are from All About Scrapbooking. Sorry, if I seem to be endorsing so much about Filstar - not really my goal, except that I want to stress that if anyone wants to scraplift ( in simply words, to copy these layouts), it is very easy to do so for the materials are available locally!

The blue flower strip is from rub on decal that I transferred to the back of a scrap paper.  The frame i used also came from a chipboard embellishment, but it would not fit the picture! Ergo - I cut the frame at two corners and covered  the space with embellishments! There, had to use the flowers and chipboard on opposite corners!

Such ribbon or twices are difficult to paste, solution: place a double sided paper on the paper and then place the paper.

Mother's Bangkal Free Classes 04

Ok, Ok... the paper set name is Plain and Simple, used so much likewise in All About Scrapbooking class and contests.  The whole paper is nice, I do not want to cut it up, so my take - simply place a picture on the center, and then make it nicer by placing a border frame.

The square border frame is something I got from Pia Zobel, I accompanied my mom. I accented the border with a ribbon from All About Scrapbooking, it was not long enough to be all around so i left free.

For some color, I used foam shapes which are already have adhesive backing, which makes it so easier to place now.

Mother's Bangkal Free Classes 03

The base paper is simple and elegant, its just circles and all, as in Circle of friends. My Mom enjoyed the free classes because she found new circle of friends in them.

In doing the layout, I noticed a board lying around. The same board is usually wrapped in patterned paper in the Scrappin Club monthly meets. But since there are so many ribbons, lying around - I chose to wrap ribbons around it instead of paper. Then I the problem are the damn corners, ugly! Ergo, cover the corners with Fabric flowers! :)

Then to add more dimension on the circle i used this old, discontinued chipboard embellishment. Yeah, old as in 3-4 yrs old i guess that the adhesive no longer works. I simply used glue paste on them! When I have more time.. will place the journal beneath the picture.

Mother's Bangkal Free Classes - 02

In this layout, my Mom is not in there but she has limited pictures. I know - I need not scrap all pictures but I also want to have a round number of layouts for an album - 10 pictures!

This one, so easy to prepare:
1. Mat the picture
2. Place a ribbon on top and bottom border (saw the ribbon on my Mom's table)
3. Open an All About Scrapbooking chipboard embellishment and place everything I can on top and bottom.. there! Done!

Mother's Bangkal Free Classes - 01

Mother is now 71st year old. And with here retirement she has so much free time and what else would she loves most is anything FREE! I am already gotten used to taking note of how much senior discounts she gets, she would always ask how much was the discount.

So, when the Bangkal Barangay declared they are offering free classes - off she goes! She took pictures and last friday, I spent the whole day scrapping some of them so she can brag about the pictures.

As before, just utilizing All About Scrapbooking papers stack she has and whatever embellishments I can find in her hoard.

Nothing special abut the layout, basically cut the outline of people sort of rejoicing. The picture is that of the chef that taught the free class in cooking and baking.

Mother took out some clear stamps she has bought years ago but never used. She said she bought the stamps for use when she scrap something for Tita Susan ... dont ask how long ago it was since she bought the stamps. So I used two stamps and cut it out and pasted it.

Mother came back and had the page signed by the chef.

Filipino Scrapbookers' Challenge1 - Take 4

I tilted the challenge layout 90 degrees to the left and this is how it turns out. it does not show but the base paper is actually a handmade craft paper. The band is from a Blossoms theme All About Scrapbooking on a red hand crafted paper.

I found the foam alphabet letters and thought it jives well (actually, the adhesive no longer works!) so I had to use glue stick . Instead of banner, I framed the title in between two scrap red ribbon.

I saw my Mom has three colored feathers she bought from the tiangge of Filstar, so I used that to draw focus on my mom's picture.  The page is not exactly finished, I still have to do some journaling to be on the upper side. But already posting this one... to complete the four takes on the first challenge.. Now that is fun!
